
Why we use mirror infrared for bathrooms
Ever stepped out of a shower into a bathroom that feels like a walk-in freezer? It’s the worst. Usually, it’s because traditional heaters try to warm up all the air in the room—which is a losing battle if you have high ceilings or an open layout. The heat just floats to the top, leaving you shivering. That’s why we build mirror infrared heaters. Instead of fighting with the air, these units send warmth straight to your skin and the surfaces around you. It’s instant. The secret is a quartz heating element that hits its peak temperature in milliseconds. You don’t have to wait ten minutes for the room to “warm up.” You just walk in, and you feel it immediately. We use high-purity quartz glass for the tubes, too, so they don’t crack when you’re flipping the switch on and off all day. Then there’s the “mirror” part. It’s not there to look pretty. We use polished aluminum or gold-plated parabolic reflectors to catch the heat that would normally head backward and bounce it forward. Without that, you’re basically paying to heat your ceiling or the wall behind the unit. By focusing the beam, we get way more heat exactly where you need it, which means we can use lower wattage without you feeling the difference. But look, you can’t just throw these anywhere. Since bathrooms are full of steam, we make sure the housing is rated IP44 or higher. You don’t want a short circuit the moment you take a hot shower. And a quick heads-up on placement: shortwave IR is fast, but it doesn’t travel as far as other types. If your ceilings are higher than 3 meters, you’ll probably need a beefier tube or a tweak to the reflector angle so the heat doesn’t just vanish into the rafters. Also, make sure your wiring is solid. These things pull a decent amount of power the second you kick them on.
